Start of Summer
Sorry for the long gap in the posts - just haven't been inspired. A lot of people are leaving for the summer, so I've got to figure out who to go get coffee with in the afternoon and that kind of thing. You know, big problems. The weekend was rainy and that got me in a strange mood, but the past two days have been absolutely beautiful - 80 degrees, perfectly sunny, and the wind finally stopped. The world weather report told me it is about the same in Claremont, give or take a bit of air quality. But being where I am I was inspired to snorkel before breakfast yesterday and today. Strange mood fading.
The past weeks I have also been following the cricket. Can't believe I care. Second Ashes test is on now (that is, the second of five 5-day matches between England and Australia), and it looks like after 5 days of playing it will be a draw. I just learned this week that more often than not they end up that way! I just got tickets for ten of us (including you Eric if you are here) to go to a 1-day match in February (the final of a 1-day series - so it will be two of England, New Zealand and Australia). Much more reasonable, but still way longer than a baseball game (I think these go 8 hours...)
