My Year-10 Work Experience

So a couple months ago when Kevin was giving me a hard time about being more into maths than hands-on engineering, the kind that gets you dirty, I said that I wished I had more mechanic experience to go with all the mechanical engineering degrees. And I asked how he'd go about getting that if he were me, and he said, not seriously: Go work in my dad and uncle's auto shop for a week like the 10th grade students do as part of a formal Work Experience program.

So next week that is what I am going to do! I suspect a week from now I will be writing stories of welding and what not. I would say I'm nervous, but I am feeling a bit uncertain about what this is going to be like! Certainly the getting up early to be at work by 8am is going to be a challenge. Fortunately I am staying nearby there for most nights this week, because it's almost a 2 hour train ride from Sydney. Stay tuned!
