Driving on the Left

[Stuff I missed...this is from April!] Brother Eric came to visit for a few weeks (a few months ago now!) and the first place we went was to the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. Kevin took us around to some great places and we went on a beautiful rainforest walk. The lighting in such places makes for not-so-good photos, so no general ones. But I took about 50 of these plant tendrils which are Mvery cool because they split in a way I've not seen before. Found a project to get me to the next plant biomechanics conference (see Sweden trip!)

Soon after Eric got here, Steven arrived, and the three of us braved the wrong side of the road in our rental car and camped for 10 days on different places up the New South Wales coast. You can't drive too long around here without running into a national park, and the first we stayed at was Myall Lakes. Beautiful peaceful place (water disturbed only by a few ducks).

This one, taken from a lookout tower, is one of my favourites because of the cloud reflection on the ocean. Didn't see any whales from there, but we tried.

Sunset of the year was at Booti Booti (tee hee!) National Park. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures at the place we stayed the longest, Yuragir National Park. We camped on the cliffside there for the long Easter weekend after jockeying for prime spots with the locals (who were reasonably entertaining in a bogan way). Some good walks along the coast, and this is the area from which I did the diving I wrote about before.
